About the event
Looking for an alternative way to celebrate the New Year with a community cultivating wholeness and aliveness?
Join us for a weekend of connection, wholeness, and presence
What Is Relatefulness?
Recently, an attendee described this practice beautifully, “ I feel like my most authentic self amongst others.”
Another participant elegantly summarized the practice as, “exploring what it’s like to be human together.”
We will be exploring what it's like to be together, both by noticing what is already present, and bringing what is alive for us. This can sometimes look structureless which can be quite intense for people to experience OR can feel as natural as seeing an old friend.
There are many different ways to encounter this retreat, and I would encourage you to reflect on your intention for attending. Below are a few potential frames to help you get started:
Heartfelt experiment: Often in our lives and roles we can get caught in habitual ways of behaving that don’t truly serve us. One way to view this weekend is as a heartfelt experiment, where you get to try out more expansive, honest, and responsive ways of being.
One beautiful and common benefit this practice has is that it helps people gain a more embodied sense of how disconnection and connection can co-exist at the same time and both can be welcome and shared. How in relateful spaces, when I share where I am at, deeper connection is possible. This often is true even if what I am sharing seems alienating (for example, “right now I feel left out of the conversation”).
Relating in more mindful ways: Meditation is a powerful practice for “waking up,” or living more in the present moment.
Relatefulness is meditation’s first cousin. Relatefulness builds off meditation by inviting us to notice, welcome, and express what is present with us in connection with someone else. Through this intentional practice, we can learn to ground our connection in the aliveness of this moment.
World class leadership accelerator: “Psychological safety means feeling safe to take interpersonal risks, to speak up, to disagree openly, to surface concerns without fear of negative repercussions or pressure to sugarcoat bad news. Psychological safety is consistently one of the strongest predictors of team performance, productivity, quality, safety, creativity, and innovation.”*
In this training we will explore how to build more inclusive spaces while still having strong boundaries. And rather than just talking about this as a theory, we will practice by doing it!
This retreat is open to anyone. No experience needed. And the term “safe space” has come up and this event is more like real life, a “brave space”. There are no guarantees about how you will be received by the group. If you want a certain kind of reception then you are empowered to create it. You can bring anything you want as long as you’re ready to see how it impacts the group. While this could look like low cost group therapy, in my experience, people who come to this event need to be secure in their adulthood and take agency to say yes and no. While I will be guiding the group this practice requires agency. Feel free to come and leave and refunds will be happily given.

Who are we?
I’m Michael Blas and I have been practicing and leading Relatefulness for 10 years in some form or another. I have a Masters Degree in Industrial Psychology and do Relatefulness based coaching with groups, couples (including parents and their adult children), and one-on-one private clients. I am the creator of The Relateful Company’s Flow Facilitator training program. I am also an instructor for the LevelUp Relatefulness Facilitator training (https://www.relateful.com/level-up-today).
I’m James Dial and I’ve been described as “a facilitator who radiates the warmth of an open heart. He has a sincerity, honesty, and acceptance of what is here, which creates an atmosphere of presence, trust, and playful aliveness.” I work full time developing leaders and teams to be more relateful, authentic, and productive at a Manufacturing plant in Charlotte.
