About the event

Join medicine woman, Virginia “Ginny” Gonzalez and other experienced Hape practitioners to learn more about this amazing Amazonian medicine. Hape is a sacred tobacco snuff made from Nicotania Rustica or Mapacho tobacco (which is different from cigarette tobacco), other plants and tree bark. Ginny will be sharing with us her testimony of transformation utilizing this powerful tool along with information about its history and traditional use.

Ginny combines her wisdom gifted to her in healing with grandfather tobacco, and knowledge passed to her by two of her teachers, which they gained directly from the Matses and Huni Kui tribes.

This plant medicine has been used for centuries in Amazonian culture. Effects differ depending on the blend of plants. Generally, it is utilized to clear the mind and energy system, increase awareness and a sense of groundedness and increase immunity. In this workshop you will receive teachings on Hape use and history and we will have a ceremony circle where you will receive Hape if interested.

The workshop is love donation based and personal starter kits of an applicator (kuripe) and an assortment of rape blends will be sold separately for those interested.

Potluck community lunch will be at 12pm followed by the workshop at 1pm.

Please bring a vegetarian lunch item to share.

To register RSVP here. Space is limited.
